Helping Hands

Caring for our community

我们是谁?

Helping Hands is a practical ministry of St Paul’s Anglican Church Carlingford, offering free volunteer help on Saturday mornings to those in need in our community. This includes gardening, weeding, mowing and light handyman work. Our small teams serve under trained leaders and are covered by the Sydney Anglican Diocese insurance policy as they work together to show Christ’s love in action.

Gardening

We offer general gardening, weed removal, mowing and hedging. We tidy up after each job, though green-waste removal depends on the availability of your green bin. With teams of up to ten volunteers, we can achieve a significant amount in just 2.5 hours.

Handyman work

We can help with a range of general handyman tasks and basic household jobs such as simple painting, assembling furniture, moving rubbish, changing light globes, and other small repairs and maintenance tasks around the home. Electrical, plumbing and roof work are excluded. Please note our volunteers are not licensed tradespeople, so we cannot provide guarantees or warranties for this work.

Get in touch

We accept referrals from local churches, home-care groups, and other community organisations. Our services are occasional, for those in genuine need or hardship, not for regular garden or home maintenance. Eligibility is assessed sensitively at the discretion of our assessment team.
